snowboarding norway

Is it realistic at all to move from the U.S to Norway?
Im 19 years old. I really want to move to Norway. I love everything about it. All i do is snowboard and its a snowboarding country. Theres beautiful woman, and the best economy in the world. Is it realistic to learn the language and commit moving to the other side of the world? Or should i forget about it.
Well im going to school right now to be a police officer.
In response to one of the other answers, Norway actually has a very good economy. Unemployment here is very low, wages and benefits are high and there aren’t enough people to fill all the skilled work positions. I’ve lived in several European countries and the US, and Norway has by far the best economy.
You don’t need to become a citizen to live in another country, you just need a valid reason for living there. Work or relationship allow permanent residence (as long as they last, and if you stay long enough you get a settlement permit). Studies allow temporary residence, as long as you’re enrolled in university here. In fact, it’s unlikely you’d become a citizen, because Norway doesn’t allow dual-citizenship.. you’d have to give up your US citizenship first. That doesn’t prevent you from living here though.
In order to move here for work, you need to be skilled in a career that is lacking in local workers. Company sponsorship is required for a work permit, and they’ll only sponsor you if you can offer skills that are in demand. If you are willing to learn the language and get a degree in something like nursing, engineering, fields related to the oil business or practical sciences, you could possibly get a job here. There are many Americans working here, most of them transferred from their company in the US.
In other words, it’s something you’d have to really want and work for. The process would take at least 3-4 years to get the necessary qualifications and make contacts. A graduate degree would be even better. If you have the funding to support yourself in Norway, you could attend school here (you need the language skills first for a Bachelor’s degree) which would put you in a better position to be hired later.
