Bigger jets on snowmobile?
Thinking about putting a Skinz Ultra Q silencer and Boyeson Rage Cage valves on a 2002 Yamaha SX600R, triple cylinder, 2-stroke snowmobile. The only mod on it are boyeson power reeds, otherwise it’s all stock. I’ve heard Yamaha’s tend to run rich out of the factory so i was wondering if i would have to re-jet. Any other tips or warnings are appreciated
Whenever you change the exhaust, it is a good idea to re-jet. It is better to start fat (rich) than too lean and cause a burn down. Go up a couple of sizes on the jets, run wide open for about 3/4 mile and do a plug chop. Check your plugs and adjust accordingly.
